Policies and Goals
Our goals for you during the week are:
The following policies must be read, understood, and agreed to, by signing the Release Form available on the website, in order for your child to attend camp.
CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY
All cancellation requests must be received in writing prior to August 1st. Camp ROC Star will retain a $100 cancellation fee and will refund any remaining balance. After August 1st tuition and fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. If your child becomes ill or has an accident within one week prior to your camp start date, inhibiting the child from attending camp, you may cancel, but Camp ROC Star will retain a $100 cancellation fee OR you may opt to receive a full tuition paid credit for the following camp season. A SIGNED NOTE FROM YOUR PHYSICIAN STATING THAT THE CAMPER IS UNABLE TO ATTEND MUST BE PROVIDED IN ORDER FOR THIS REFUND/CREDIT OPTION TO BE CONSIDERED. If a camper withdraws from camp because of (1) homesickness; (2) refusal to participate in the normal activities of the camp; (3) evidence that some emotional or physical problem which predates their arrival at camp results in the lack of adjustment to camp and/or adversely effects the health and well being of other campers, there will be NO REFUND. If a camper is requested by the Camp Director to leave camp because of violation of Camper Code of Conduct or because of personal conduct which interferes with the health or welfare of him/herself or others, then no refund will be made.
PHOTO, VIDEO, & AUDIO RELEASE
Camp ROC Star requests permission for the publication of photos, videos, and/or audio recordings of your child. Camper photos may be selected for use in display ads, on promotional materials, in our newsletter, or on the Camp ROC Star website. Video footage may be posted on the Camp ROC Star website. Audio recordings may be selected for use on the Camp ROC Star website. Campers who write original compositions will retain ownership of their songs. Camper names will not be disclosed or published.

- To have fun! The reasons we all starting playing music and still do it today is because we love it. Playing in a band is one of the coolest things you’ll ever do. Enjoy it!
- To learn something new about your instrument, the process of making music with other people and performing live.
- To make new friends as you work together to put on a memorable show for yourselves, your friends and your families.
- Be kind to yourself and each other. As we try new things, we all make lots of mistakes. Don’t worry about it…the whole idea is to get better as we go. The important thing is to be positive, be encouraging and celebrate everyone’s successes, big or small!
- Be careful so that no one gets hurt and none of the great equipment we’ll be using, is damaged. Please listen to your instructors and mentors so you know where to be and what to do in order to prevent any accidents or injuries (believe it or not, stages can be dangerous places…watch your step at all times).
- Be ready to rock! A band is like a sports team – you may contribute something different than someone else, but everyone’s role is important and everyone needs to be prepared (practice!) and willing to help each other out.

- Absolutely NO smoking, drugs, or alcohol on campus.
- No vulgar or obscene language allowed, and no vulgar or obscene words, phrases, or symbols allowed on any article of clothing or any other item brought to Camp ROC Star.
- Any type of verbal abuse, fighting, pushing, stealing (no “finders’ keepers”), or use of other students’ or faculty members’ musical equipment or personal property without prior permission will result in dismissal.
- Being disrespectful of adults and/or staff will result in dismissal.
- If you made a request to be in a band with specific campers prior to registration and a mistake has been made, talk to your camp Director as soon as possible on Monday, preferably before camp begins. Any class or band changes MUST BE requested no later than the end of the day on Monday each week.
- No damage to campus property or you will be responsible for repair, replacement, or cleaning costs.
- No cell phone use allowed at camp or during concerts unless there is an emergency.
- Absolutely NO skateboarding on campus (due to our insurance agreements with the campuses we rent, we cannot allow students to skateboard).
- Campers are responsible for their own equipment and possessions (drumsticks, guitars, gig bags, cords, textbooks, lunchboxes, clothing, etc.). Make sure when you leave an area you have all of your things with you.
- Campers must sign in and out at the Registration desk each morning. Camp Director must be notified if you are leaving early, going to be absent, or are being picked up by anyone other than a parent or carpool driver.
- Camp ROC Star reserves the right to expel a student without refund for any behavior that is detrimental to the running of the program, or if camper mistreats fellow campers, staff, or the facility.
